Lavender Purple Cotton Terry Chenille Fabric, Wavy Texture 28 x 61 Inches, Preshrunk, Ready to Use - Lavender Light Purple Color Very soft light lavender purple terry chenille fabric, 28 by 61 inches cut. The chenille texture is wavy parallel lines over all of the fabric, alternating in spacing, some lines closer together than others. It is 100% cotton. (This is not upholstery fabric.) MEASUREMENTS: 28 inches long and 61 inches wide. This is s 28-inch cut off of very wide fabric. The color is light lavender purple. This is not a pinky-purple color, but more in the light amethyst range. Not gray. Very beautiful color. This fabric was purchased on a bolt some time ago, and preshrunk in plain hot water and dried in a clothes dryer. This was done in order to shrink the fabric and allow the initial shedding which all new chenille will do. Well, it never was used and has been in my collection ever since, saved in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag. I cut the fabric into pieces to make it easier to preshrink and also serged the cut edges to prevent raveling threads. This will now be easier for you to use in your project as the initial shrinking and shedding has already been done. This fabric has never been laundered with detergent. It is NOT from a vintage bedspread and has never been used for any purpose. It was purchased new as yardage on a bolt and subsequently wet with hot water and dried as a way to prepare the fabric for use. There may be more shrinkage and shedding, but that will be greatly reduced by the initial hot water bath preparation. That first step has been done for you, and I consider the fabric to be ready to sew into your lovely quilt or any other soft project. However, be aware that it may shrink a little further and shed more, too, with the next wash. (New chenille fabric does shrink a lot and sheds quite a bit initially, too.) (The scrunched-up appearance of the fabric in the photos should straighten itself out when your new quilt is laundered and it will look smooth and fluffy again. It has been vacuum-sealed for several years and was compressed quite a bit.) From a smoke-free home. No smells or scents added. Very clean. Very soft. Very sweet.
